Following a nine-month search, IHE Fellow Michael K. McLendon has been appointed dean at Baylor University’s School of Education and will begin his service on July 1.

Denisa Gándara has been awarded a Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship. The dissertation fellowship provides one year of support to individuals working toward completing their dissertation. It is intended to support the final year of writing and defense of the dissertation.

Athens, Ga. – Mary Sue Coleman, president emerita of the University of Michigan, will present the 26th Annual Louise McBee Lecture Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. in the University of Georgia Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Daniel J. Pugh, Sr. (PhD, 2000), has been named vice president for student affairs at Texas A&M University and will begin his new duties on Aug. 1.  He currently serves as vice provost for student affairs at the University of Arkansas.
