Athens, GA – Denisa Gándara, a doctoral candidate in the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia, has recently received two prestigious honors.

The Institute of Higher Education invites applications for a post-doctoral research and teaching position. The position is designed to engage an emerging scholar in the Institute’s research and teaching mission.

Alumna Brooks Seay (EdD, 2011) has been selected as the new vice president of finance and operations and CFO at Young Harris College in North Georgia.  She will guide the strategic direction of a college that has experienced significant recent growth.

Samaad Wes Keys joins Achieving the Dream as associate director of programs and policy. He will work on community college programs that effect institutional change, advance knowledge, and public engagement.

Following a nine-month search, IHE Fellow Michael K. McLendon has been appointed dean at Baylor University’s School of Education and will begin his service on July 1.
