PhD, 2020 Josh Patterson is the research director for higher education studies at SoundRocket, a research design implementation and analysis service. He has been serving as a research fellow at the American Academy of Religion in Atlanta. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in religious studies from the University of Georgia. During his master's program he taught courses in Judaism, Christianity and Islam and in World Religions. He has presented papers on the epistle of James and contemporary celebrations of the Passover holiday. He also worked for several years as a tutor for the Athletic Association at UGA and is interested in issues concerning student athletes. While a student in the Institute of Higher Education, he studied research issues related to religious studies in public higher education including but not limited to learning outcomes assessment, programs assessment, service learning, and organization and governance. He served as a graduate assistant for the Governor's Teaching Fellows program, which serves faculty from all colleges and universities in Georgia.
