Image: by Jewel Caruso Maggie Parker, PhD 2022, was recently selected as the director of the Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness at UGA. Previously, Parker served as the associate director for accreditation since 2016. In that role, she supported the institutional accreditation process, developed strategic plans, and analyzed data related to planning. This office is responsible for UGA’s institutional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). S. Jack Hu, UGA’s senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Provost, said Parker “played a vital role in UGA’s most recent reaffirmation of SACSCOC accreditation in 2021-2022.” Parker expressed her focus in her new role, “As the new director of the Office of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness, my vision is centered on fostering a culture of continuous improvement while building relationships and knowledge across campus.” Parker credits the McBee Institute in the growth of her career: “It is an incredible honor to be entrusted with such a vital role, and I am thrilled to contribute to the growth and success of our University.
