Image: by Jewel Caruso Jeremy Daniel (MEd 2016) was one of the professionals honored in Georgia Trend's 2023 40 Under 40 list. Daniel currently serves as the assistant to the director for Strategic Initiatives for the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia. Daniel helps the Vinson Institute maintain its mission to promote excellence in government to help serve the public. Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40 list highlights individuals who have emerged as leaders in the state of Georgia. The nominees are described as bright, determined, and risk-takers who help those outside of their work environments. The October edition of the magazine included short biographies of each finalist. Daniel was recognized for his ability to put others first while maintaining a leadership role. One of his major accomplishments has been collaborating on the creation of the UGA Mentor Program. Daniel served as the inaugural director of the program that connects UGA students with alumni to help build connections and pass on valuable professional experiences and insight. The essence of the program demonstrates Daniel’s commitment to public service and promoting excellence within his communities. Daniel also is involved with the local community in Athens by serving on the boards of the Clarke County Mentor Program and Athens REACH Scholarship Board.
