MEd, 2016 Jeremy Daniel (PhD, PMP) serves as the assistant to the director for strategic initiatives at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. In this role, he provides counsel and recommendations concerning strategic direction, organizational development, and performance improvement. Daniel plays a hands-on in the design, implementation, and evaluation of organizational and management processes that guide and integrate the various efforts of the divisions into a meaningful and productive enterprise. These activities include internal evaluation and assessment, strategic and operational planning, management tools, organizational development, performance tracking, process improvement, and reporting. In October 2022, he was admitted into the Leadership Georgia Class of 2023. Previously, Daniel served as the Director, UGA Mentor Program; he designed and launched a Presidential, university-wide initiative to scale the number of meaningful number of student-alumni connections. The program has fostered 4,000+ mentoring relationships to date. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys quality time with his spouse and their four children: Sawyer, River, Willow, and Oakley. Otherwise, you can find Daniel serving in the Athens community, playing basketball, and/or training for an upcoming triathlon. Daniel serves as the Treasurer on the Clarke County Mentor Program Board of Directors and serves on the Athens REACH Scholarship Advisory Board. Born and raised in Putnam County, Georgia, Daniel earned a BS in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University in 2009. Jeremy took a circuitous path into higher education; his first five years of his professional career were in the railroad industry.
