PhD, 2016 Jonathan M. Turk is an assistant professor of higher education at Saint Louis University. Previously, Turk has served as the associate director of the Center for Policy Research and Strategy for the American Council on Education in Washington, DC. The Center conducts research and convenes researchers and policymakers to study issues of interest to ACE members, the media, and the higher education community. He also has been ACE's lead quantitative researcher and was responsible for managing research projects, authoring research papers and briefs, providing policy analysis and research support for ACE’s Division of Government and Public Affairs, and advising the U.S. Department of Education on postsecondary data collection efforts. Turk’s own research investigates issues within higher education from sociological, political, and economic perspectives. Specifically, his research examines college student outcomes, the intersections of public policy and student success and completion, and institutional change. Turk holds a PhD in higher education from the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia. He also holds an MS in educational research and a BA in political science and sociology from Iowa State University.
