Doctoral Student Justin Haynes is the senior compensation analyst for the University of Tennessee Systems. In this role, he is responsible for the salary structure, external compensation market analysis, employee compensation recommendations, job classifying/pricing, and the UT System HR intern rotation program. Haynes joined UTS in 2022 as a compensation analyst, where he improved the efficiency and accuracy of all compensation practices. Prior to joining UTS, Haynes worked in various HR roles for Pilot Company. Also, before embarking on a career in human resources, Haynes worked as a professional pianist, touring, teaching, and recording jazz, R&B, gospel, and country music. Haynes holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Music in Jazz/Studio Music, and a Master of Human Resources Management from the University of Tennessee. Haynes is a senior certified professional with the Society of Human Resources.
