Pearson Brown

Doctoral Student

Pearson Brown is a doctoral student at the McBee Institute of Higher Education and a Research Associate for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Brown has worked on system-level projects that include analyzing course outcomes by modality, dual enrollment trends, and post-graduation outcomes with attention to graduates’ earnings. He has presented his work at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) and at the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Forum.

Prior to joining the University System Office full time, Brown worked in the same division as a graduate assistant. He also interned with the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO) in 2023, and his research on lottery proceeds as an aspect of state support for higher education was featured as a State Higher Education Finance (SHEF) Issue Brief.

Brown’s research interests center on ways states acquire revenue and how various funding streams affect higher education appropriations. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Professional Selling from Baylor University and a Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia.
