Nathan Moore (PhD 2020) was recently appointed as deputy chief of staff to President Jere W. Morehead at the University of Georgia. He assumed his new responsibilities on October 1st.

In Moore's new position, he will be the leading point of contact for inquiries and day-to-day management of the President’s Office. In addition, he will work closely with Development and Alumni Relations and serve as President Morehead's liaison to the University Council and President’s Faculty Advisory Committee.

“Dr. Moore’s experience in the President’s Office has prepared him well to assume this increased level of responsibility,” said President Morehead. “I appreciate his deep commitment to the University of Georgia and to the Office of the President, and I congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion. I look forward to working with Dr. Moore in his expanded role as deputy chief of staff.

Moore has been in the President’s Office since 2018 when he joined as a graduate research assistant. Shortly after his graduation from the McBee Institute, Moore was promoted to postdoctoral fellow and later was the assistant to the president. During his time in the President’s office, he has helped establish the Innovation District, collaborated on the 2025 Strategic Plan, and assisted with UGA’s reaffirmation of accreditation.

Moore works closely with McBee Institute alumna Kathy Pharr, vice president of marketing and communication and chief of staff.

Congratulations to Dr. Nathan Moore on his promotion at UGA!
