Image: by Jewel Caruso Danielle Buehrer (EdD, 2021) was elected to the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees this past December. In their annual meeting in December, Buehrer was voted in by the majority of the College Delegate Assembly. She started her three-year term on January 1st, along with the rest of the Class of 2025. When asked about her goals for her new appointment, Buehrer said she wants to gain a greater depth of understanding of the accreditation process while being granted this insider view. She also hopes to achieve more insight in future discussion and connections among the board members. "Some of the best learning opportunities I've had as an accreditation liaison have been when I have served as an external reviewer on an accreditation committee. [This appointment] will allow me to be a stronger accreditation liaison for my university as well as a stronger practitioner in the field of higher education and accreditation." Buehrer joins McBee IHE alumnus Tim Letzring (EdD, 1994) on the board. Letzring is part of the Florida delegation. His three-year term ends in December 2023. Buehrer currently serves as the vice provost of institutional effectiveness at Mercer. University after working as the executive director of institutional quality and accreditation at Kennesaw State University. Congratulations to Buehrer on the appointment! Type of News/Audience: Alumni
