Image: by Jewel Caruso Karley Riffe (PhD 2018) announced her relocation from Auburn University to the University of Cincinnati. She will be joining the faculty as an assistant professor in higher education. Riffe stated that this transition holds a lot of meaning to her in her Twitter announcement: "This move is significant both professionally AND personally. It is rare, as a professor, to be able to go home after living far away for the last 15 years. I'm excited to serve the community where I grew up and to be close to family and friends." Riffe's research specializes in changes to the academic profession in the United States and specifically the implications of academic appointment types at public, comprehensive institutions. During her time at MIHE, she worked with various faculty and students on an NSF-funded project to evaluate how university trustees connect AAU institutions to the largest economy. She also worked with current interim director Jim Hearn on a TIAA-sponsored project which addresses the influence of the growing use of contingent faculty members on institutional outcomes. Congratulations to Riffe for this exciting new position. Type of News/Audience: Alumni
