Doctoral Student Jonathan Barefield is a doctoral student with the McBee Institute of Higher Education. His research interests include analysis and development of policies aimed at improving students' access, success, and post-graduation outcomes. He is particularly interested in institutional finance and the costs of college to students and their families. Jonathan holds a B.A. in religion and a B.S. in psychology (UGA), an M.A. in English language and literature (Central Michigan University), and an M.A. in religion (UGA). He is currently employed as a Senior Analyst on the Educational Transformation team at Ithaka S+R, primarily researching and analyzing data on projects related to state financial aid, student debt, and degree completion initiatives for adult learners.
