PhD, 2012 Since January 2023, Yarbrah Peeples has served as the senior director of policy & advocacy at Leadership for Educational Equity. Prior to this appointment she was senior regional director, east for the national College Advising Corps (CAC), where Yarbrah guided and supported initiatives to expand CAC’s reach and deepens its impact across eight states along the Atlantic coast. Yarbrah provided leadership and support to the four eastern regional directors, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and senior university leaders, and identifying and advancing new opportunities for expansion. Previously, she served as director of the Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC), which was launched in 2008 as a result of a partnership between the McBee Institute, the Watson-Brown Foundation, and the national College Advising Corps. During her time at the Institute as a PhD student, Yarbrah was the recipient of the Zell and Shirley Miller Graduate Fellow for the 2010-2011 academic year. She earned an MS in Higher Education from Florida State University and a BS and MBA from Florida A&M University. She brought to her degree experience as an academic program specialist with the TRIO Student Support Services Program at Florida State University. Her professional interests included examining organizational theory and behavior related to historically black colleges and universities and higher education access and success issues related to first generation, low-income, and minority students.
