EdD, 1993 Trish Kalivoda served as senior associate vice president for public service and outreach at the University of Georgia (UGA), and editor of the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement until her retirement in 2013. As part of her work in the Office of the Vice President, Kalivoda developed and implemented programs and activities to support faculty member scholarship of engagement and engaged research. For example, on behalf of the vice president, Kalivoda developed a Scholarship of Engagement Grants seed-grant program, a Scholarship of Engagement Award, and a Public Service and Outreach Faculty Fellowship program. The programs and award are designed to support the University’s public service, outreach, and engagement mission. Before joining the Office of the Vice President, Kalivoda held positions in the Office of the Provost, and in the Office of Instructional Development, where she focused research and program implementation on issues related to faculty professional development. She was an adjunct faculty member in the Institute of Higher Education and is a founding member of UGA’s Teaching Academy. Kalivoda earned a bachelor’s degree in language education, an MBA with a concentration in finance, and a doctorate in higher education with a concentration in faculty development from the Institute of Higher Education.
