Doctoral Student Tori Tanner Grandstaff is a doctoral student at the Institute for Higher Education. She serves as the Enrollment Strategist for GMB. In this role, she works with enrollment management units across the country to help them set and achieve their enrollment goals. Previously, she was the assistant director for new student orientation in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UGA before serving as the Director of Enrollment Management for the Morehead Honors College. In 2021, Tori left UGA and began working for a higher education technology company, Ellucian. This is where her love for working with schools to accomplish their future enrollment goals began. Her research interests include the development of enrollment management offices in the 21st century, the topic of her dissertation. Tori’s is also interested in the competitive nature of the higher education marketplace, and how ranking publications play into this competition. Tori is grateful to MIHE for helping her narrow her research and career interests and encouraging her to think more strategically about higher education. However, she is most thankful that MIHE introduced her to her now husband, Dr. Matthew Grandstaff. Tori earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Spanish from Mercer University in 2016 and a Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) from the Mary Frances Early College of Education at the University of Georgia in 2018.
