EdD, 2011 Stu Evans is the director of academic finance and planning at George Mason University. As a member of the Assistant Vice President for Finance & Planning's leadership team, Stu provides financial oversight of academic units (schools, colleges, and Provost units), and leads associated initiatives and projects. Evans specializes in management with a focus on implementing technologies and organizational structures that facilitate instruction and learning in a higher education environment. He previously served in various leadership roles at the University of Virginia, including senior associate dean of external relations and communicatons, the executive director of the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation, the associate dean for program innovation, and the assistant dean of strategic initiatives at the McIntire School of Commerce. Evans also served as the program director for the eMcIntire Executive Certificate in Management Program and the McIntire Business Institute. He worked closely with the academic director and faculty teams to develop curriculum, integrate technology solutions, and manage the client relationships for the programs. Evans holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Georgia, an M.S. in Management Information Systems and a B.S. in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia.
