Sayge Medlin

Doctoral Student

Sayge Medlin is a doctoral student at the Institute of Higher Education and serves as assistant director of internal operations at UGA’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development. Sayge supervises the unit’s program coordination staff and is responsible for aligning student programs with the Institute’s strategic priorities. As public service faculty, she specializes in employing consensus building techniques to facilitate groups and organizations through results-based decision-making processes such as strategic planning, change management, and board development. Prior to joining the Institute, Sayge served as the director of strategy integration for Georgia Family Connection Partnership, a state level nonprofit that provides data, research, training, and technical assistance to a network of 159 collaborative organizations in Georgia.

Sayge is particularly interested in the policies and practices that support equitable, mutually beneficial partnerships between higher education and community-based organizations.  

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences and a Master of Social Work, both from the University of Georgia.
