EdD, 2017 Randy Blackmon is the University System of Georgia’s Director of Enrollment and Strategic Projects at eCampus. He is responsible for enrollment services serving dual enrollment, military, adult learners, and traditional students. He also works with academic and administrative teams to foster collaborative solutions across Georgia's higher education institutions. Prior to his arrival to eCampus, Blackmon completed over 32 years in the U.S. Navy, serving on multiple at-sea deployments and ultimately commanding the carrier-based squadron, VAW-116 Sun Kings. Blackmon deployed to conflicts in Bosnia/Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. His deployments and tours of duty landed him in over 24 countries. Deploying on the aircraft carriers USS Forestall, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln resulted in just over seven years at sea, with 3,700 flying hours, and 650 arrested landings His duties provided the opportunity to manage a 10 million dollar operating budget supporting $3 billion in combat assets. Blackmon also led the day to day operations of two Navy Air Warfare Weapons Schools. He completed his naval service at Air University as faculty for the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL, teaching strategic leadership and war fighting. Blackmon holds a Masters of Business Administration from Trident University International graduating summa cum laude, a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mississippi graduating summa cum laude, and an Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology from Meridian Junior College graduating with highest honors.
