Omar Villaneuva

Master's Student

Omar Villanueva is a part-time master’s student at the Institute of Higher Education. He currently serves as an associate professor of chemistry at Georgia Gwinnett College where his responsibilities include mentoring and teaching undergraduate students in lower- and upper-level chemistry courses and conducting research. Omar is passionate about promoting higher education STEM careers to minority and first-generation students and his interests center around Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) issues in higher education. 

Omar received his Bachelor of Chemistry and Bachelor of Science Education from the University of Georgia and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Emory University.
