Dina McDade Hewett

Dina McDade Hewett is the Associate Dean of Nursing Operations at Herzing University.

Hewett was named the director of the School of Nursing at the Brenau University in July 2014. In announcing her appointment, the dean​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Ivester​ ​College​ ​of​ ​Health​ ​Sciences​, Gale Hansen Starich, praised Hewett for her "great perspective on understanding the need for well-trained graduates as well as for highly experienced professionals who will help prepare those graduates for the real world.”

Hewett graduated from Brenau Women’s College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She served as a nursing faculty member and as an adjunct instructor in psychology from 1999 to 2000. She was the Brenau Outstanding Young Alumnae Award recipient in 1999 and in 2016 was honored at the Masters in the Art of Nursing: Healers Among Us ceremony for her commitment to healthcare. 

Additionally she worked at St. Mary’s Healthcare System in Athens, Georgia, as the director of several departments. She earned a master’s degree as an adult clinical nurse specialist from Georgia Southern University.
