Doctoral Student Annie Carlson Welch is a part-time doctoral student in the McBee Institute for Higher Education. She serves as an Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Georgia. In this role, she focuses on the division’s strategic plan, academic partnerships, the integration of curricular and co-curricular learning, assessment, data management, and accreditation. Additionally, she serves on UGA’s University Council and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Annie’s professional background covers a breadth of academic and student affairs roles from undergraduate research to assessment, academic advising, student engagement, and fraternity/sorority life. She’s worked at institutions across the country, including NC State University, Wake Forest University, the University of Oregon, and Florida State University. Annie holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology from the University of Illinois.
