Biljana Birač

Doctoral Student

Biljana Birač is a doctoral student with the McBee Institute of Higher Education. Her research interests include, among other topics, national and institutional policies and measures that influence higher education attainment and completion. 

She holds a Bachelor of Art in English and Spanish Language and Literature and a Master’s degree in international communication from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy as well as a Master’s degree in Contemporary European Studies from University of Sussex, UK. She was a Hubert H. Humphrey fellow in the education policy and administration program at Pennsylvania State University in 2018/19. 

Biljana has worked at the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education where she was involved in the development and implementation of a new institutional set-up and procedures for accreditation of study programs. She also contributed to various strategic and policy documents, legislation proposals and prepared and implemented several European Union funded projects in Croatia and other European countries.
