Melissa Whatley (PhD 2019) announced her latest publication in the Journal of Comparative and International Higher Education which was co-written with Heidi Fischer of Old Dominion University.

The article, "Pandemic Repercussions: The Future of International Education at US Community Colleges", explores the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic that can help community colleges better support international students well into the future."

Their findings suggest that the pandemic causes community college international education programs to face "a reallocation of institutional resources, both financial and otherwise, which shapes the educational opportunities available to students and informs the institutional habitus of the US community college."

Whatley has also recently received an award for Best International Study Article on a different article published last fall.
