Alumnus Todd Holcomb (EdD ’92) has been named the eighth president of Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, beginning July 1, 2019. Hawkeye Community College serves more than 25,000 individuals and awards nearly 1,500 diplomas and degrees annually.
Several IHE alumni and friends contributed to the Institute of Higher Education fund during the first-ever Georgia Giving Week, held April 20-26. Participants received a special discount on items at the University Bookstore and a limited edition UGA mini pennant magnet.
Susan Herbst, president of the University of Connecticut delivered the Louise McBee Lecture at the University of Georgia on April 25.

Carrie Klein, doctoral candidate in the Higher Education Program at George Mason University, visited the Institute on Wednesday, April 24. Her talk, Analytics in Higher Education: Complexities in Design, Implementation, and Efficacy, examined predictive learning analytic tools.
