Mumbi Okundaye Anderson

Mumbi Okundaye currently serves as the graduate education director at the University of Georgia College of Public Health. She is responsible for student admissions and retention, recruitment, and program development. In addition, Okundaye serves on the college accreditation committee, and is the liaison with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). She has been authored in published articles relating to research on persistent poverty and poor health, as well as health literacy among older adults. She also has extensive experience in co-authoring demographic analyses and feasibility studies for various local and state organizations in Georgia.

Okundaye's community efforts include serving on the AIDS Athens board of directors, organizing an annual Athens AIDS Walk, and serving on the Diversity Representative Council at UGA. She is also a member of Sigma Phi Omega (national academic honor and professional society in gerontology) and Delta Omega National Honor Society in Public Health.

Okundaye received a Bachelor of Art in psychology from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and a Master of Public Health in health policy and management, as well as a Certificate in Gerontology, from UGA.
