Elizabeth Gaughf Kozak

Elizabeth Gaughf Kozak is a regional director in the University of Georgia's Office of Development. She began her career in higher education at Vanderbilt University in student affairs and transitioned to admissions and financial aid.

Kozak had served as director of development and alumni relations in the UGA College of Education. In this leadership role, she oversaw development and alumni relations for the College’s nine departments and 60,000 alumni with a special emphasis on major gift strategy and fundraising. She had joined the College of Education in January 2014 as the director of alumni relations. She worked with the dean to create both the College’s Board of Visitors, the inaugural Student Ambassadors group, and other innovative alumni and giving programs. In addition to managing a major gifts pipeline, she redesigned the college’s annual giving campaign strategy and has excelled in her efforts to reinvigorate the College’s Dean’s Club.

She holds a BS in psychology from UGA and was a Leadership Fellow at the Terry College of Business. She earned an MEd from Vanderbilt University in higher education policy with an emphasis in institutional advancement. 

Her areas of interest include higher education policy and law, institutional advancement, political dynamics and organizational governance, strategic communications and partnerships, and the implications of corporate and foundation funding on higher education.
