PhD, 2014 Dr. Dennis A. Kramer II is a visiting associate professor of Education Policy within the Johns Hopkins University's School of Education. He also currently serves as a Senior Advisor within the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid. He previously served as an assistant professor of education policy at the University of Florida and as the director of the College of Education’s Education Policy Research Center. His research focuses on the use of behavioral insights to understand education-based decision making and education policy at the federal, state, and local levels. Dr. Kramer specializes in the use of quasi-experimental techniques as well as behavioral “nudges” and randomized control trials to evaluate the effects of education policies. He concluded a two-year study examining the role of information and admissions waivers as an effective mechanism for re-engaging community college dropouts in Florida. Dr. Kramer was a faculty fellow within the General Services Administration’s Office of Evaluation Sciences. He also was the Senior Research and Policy Analyst for the Georgia Department of Education Policy Division.
