PhD, 2015 Lucia Brajkovic is the executive director of the Higher Education Initiative for Southeastern Europe (HEISEE), the education consultant for the Education Global Practice at the World Bank, and a senior research specialist at the American Council on Education (ACE) Center for Internationalization and Global Engagement. In 2014, Brajkovic worked at UGA's Carl Vinson Institute of Government collaborating on a state-funded 12-month research project conducting analysis of declining undergraduate enrollments, as well as analyzing the potential impacts of policy changes, economic conditions, and demographic changes within the University System of Georgia. She was a Fulbright student from Croatia, and her dissertation research focused on higher education systems in post-transition countries of Central and Eastern Europe. She is also interested in exploring the connections of elite U.S. universities with the industry and corporate world, particularly with transnational corporations. She was a co-recipient of the 2014-15 Zell and Shirley Miller Graduate Fellowship, which is given by IHE faculty to students with outstanding scholarly potential, academic record and professional achievements. Education Education: Brajkovic holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and sociology from the University of Zagreb and a diploma in public relations management.
