Doctoral Student Sherice L. Dowling serves as director for financial planning and analysis for the Office of the Provost at Emory University. As a member of the Office of the Provost staff, she is responsible for developing budgets and financial management processes. Contributing to the implementation of policies and practices, Dowling collaborates with departments and units to promote consistency from a finance perspective. Prior to this role, Dowling served as the associate director for financial operations in the Office of Financial Aid. She managed daily financial compliance and operations for a critical part of Emory's operations and played a key role in the administration of the $190 million in Federal Title IV, Georgia state, and other external funding. Dowling was a key contributor in managing the $40 million in Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) that helped the University and students manage through COVID disruptions. With over 20 years of accounting and financial management experience, Dowling began her career as an accountant at Turner Sports, Inc. and matriculated throughout the Turner Broadcasting, Inc. entities including CNN and Cartoon Network before leaving the corporate sector as an accounting manager. Dowling is a wife and mother of four who enjoys working with young people. She is an avid volunteer within the greater Atlanta community in her spare time.
