Her survey data adds voice and context to the statistical data showing that graduates from underrepresented backgrounds have a more difficult time transitioning into appropriate employment and realizing the benefits of a postsecondary degree when compared with their more affluent peers. The research is based on a decade-long project, which focuses on college experiences and employment outcomes at two universities in the same English city, the University of Bristol and the University of West of England, between 2010 and 2017.
