Sacha N. Sharp Assistant Professor of Medicine Indiana University School of Medicine Monday, February 28, 2022 - 11am Zoom (advance registration required) Education Policy Seminar Join Dr. Sacha Sharp as she discusses the research behind her award-winning dissertation, Black Women Graduate Students' Social Media Use as a Space for Reclamation, Resistance, and Healing. Sharp uses Black feminist thought (Collins, 2002) as a conceptual framework and dramaturgy as a methodology. Her research explores social media content produced by Black women graduate students to claim identity and seek community. Sharp's dissertation received the 2021 Selma Greenberg Outstanding Dissertation Award from Division J of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Dr. Sharp is an assistant professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The event is presented as part of the McBee Institute's Critical Perspectives on Race series and also part of the Women's Studies Program's Women's History Month series. Pre-registration is required.
