Image: Jaden Mikoulinskii, current first-year PhD student, was recently selected as a recipient of the 2025 Louise McBee Scholarship sponsored by the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education (GAWHE). This prestigious award, honoring Dr. Louise McBee, supports educational enrichment for women displaying strong leadership potential in the field of higher education. Mikoulinskii joins fellow doctoral student Carlie Cooper as this year’s scholarship recipients representing the University of Georgia. “Louise McBee’s legacy played a pivotal role in my decision to enroll at MIHE, making this award an especially meaningful “full circle moment.” I am deeply honored to be among the few women statewide selected for this scholarship. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the GAWHE, particularly to the scholarship committee chair, Dr. Brooklyn Cole Herrera, for the time and care invested in reviewing my application” said Mikoulinskii. “I am also profoundly appreciative of my University System of Georgia (USG) graduate assistantship supervisors, whose encouragement and endorsement strengthened my candidacy. I look forward to using this scholarship to support conference travel and educational opportunities that will empower my work as a young woman in higher education policy.” As a graduate assistant at the University System of Georgia, Mikoulinskii has benefited from the mentorship and guidance from Dr. Leslie Hodges, Senior Research Associate at the Board of Regents, USG. “Congratulations to Jaden on this well-earned honor. As her mentor, I witness firsthand her passion for higher education policy as she pursues additional research and learning opportunities, enthusiastically makes connections, and seeks feedback for her ideas. This scholarship will provide Jaden with invaluable opportunities to present her own research, learn from other researchers and policymakers, and ultimately make a lasting impact in the field.” said Hodges. Mikoulinskii will be formally recognized alongside Carlie Cooper at the GAWHE Annual Conference, which takes place February 24-26, 2025 at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia.
