Image: Alexa Arndt (PhD 2023) served as a research assistant with the J. W. Fanning Institute. Her research interests include women in senior leadership roles within institutions of higher education. Arndt was also previously the president of the Higher Education Student Society (HESS). Brian Brookey (MEd 2023) serves as the Regional Director of Development for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UGA. His research topics include higher education development practices and the growing importance of development plays in a university’s success. Sarah Burman (PhD 2023) served as a research assistant to Dr. Wolniak while at the Institute. Her professional research interests include higher education policy, college accessibility, tuition transparency, and retention. Grace Covello (PhD 2023) worked as an academic advisor at American University before coming to UGA. Her research interests are focused on access and choice to higher education for folks who are currently and/or formerly incarcerated. She has served as a research assistant working with Dr. Wolniak. Cate Crowe (MEd 2023) is currently the special programs assistant at the McBee Institute, helping with the McBee EdD and GTF programs. Crowe has a high interest in working with both students and families in the field of education. Larsen Gilbert (MEd 2023) served as a graduate assistant with The Georgia Way. She plans to continue working on a college campus serving students. In her undergraduate program, she worked in the Tennessee Athletic Department with the Tennessee Fund and Student-Athlete Development/Life Skills. Chad Mandala (PhD 2023) served as director of the UGA Pride Center for a few years before transitioning to Micron Technology as their Regional Lead. His research focuses on advocacy centers in higher education and equality and diversity. Jenn May-Trifiletti (PhD 2023) is currently a full-time research project lead for studies of postsecondary student success at the University of Michigan.
