Samaad Wes Keys, PhD 2014, was selected for UGA's 2022 40 Under 40 class presented by the UGA Alumni Association.

Currently, Keys is a program officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to his current position, Keys was recruited to the Southern Education Foundation where he helped build higher education programming and has worked at various higher education organizations such as the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, DC's Office of the Superintendent of Education, The United Negro College Fund (UNCF), and the Ascendum Education Group to name a few.

Keys is deeply committed to community involvement as well. He dedicates time to working with a group of high school seniors to provide support and advice throughout the college application process. In addition, he currently serves on the board of the Scholarship Academy which is a Georgia-based non-profit organization that provides access and pathways to funding for students and their families paying for college.

Keys has received multiple awards and recognitions for his dedicated service to higher education: the Who's Who of Black Atlanta Recipient, Council on Foundations Career Pathways Fellow 2022, and AASCC Emerging Leaders Fellow.

The 40 Under 40 Awards Luncheon will be held on September 9 in the Tate Student Center. Congratulations to Keys on his impressive achievements and this very special recognition!
