Master's Student Lori Skillings is a higher education professional with over eight years of experience supporting students and institutions across Georgia through large, federally-funded STEM initiatives. She currently serves as a Research Associate, Co-PI, and Program Manager with the Georgia Space Grant Consortium at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She works with Georgia colleges, universities, and K-12 partners to strengthen STEM education, workforce development, and statewide collaboration. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in math and science from Kennesaw State University. Throughout her career, Lori has been driven by a commitment to student success and institutional impact. She has managed NASA-funded programs, coordinated statewide outreach efforts, and developed systems that streamline funding access and collaboration. Prior to Georgia Tech, she established and led a Grants Office at a technical college, securing federal and nonprofit funding. Earlier roles in K-12 education included serving as Director of Technology for multiple school districts, where she supported educators and students through large-scale instructional technology initiatives. Lori is excited to pursue a Master of Higher Education at the University of Georgia's prestigious Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education to deepen her understanding of higher education administration, policy, and research-based practice. She looks forward to strengthening her leadership skills, applying theory to practice, and continuing to find new ways to better serve students and institutions across Georgia's higher education landscape.
