Julia Butler-Mayes

Julia is an Associate working in the Higher Education Practice for Parker Executive Search.

As an Associate, Julia’s main responsibilities are to conduct thorough research on clients and target institutions, organize and execute search processes, and recruit qualified candidates based on the needs of the client and institution.

Before joining Parker Search, Julia spent over a decade in higher education administration, most recently in the Office of the Vice President for Instruction as Director of the Office of University Academic Advising Services at the University of Georgia. Prior to that, she coordinated student services for UGA’s College of Education and the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.  

Julia holds an A.B. in Cognitive Science from the University of Georgia, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education. Outside of work, she regularly serves as a mentor through the UGA Mentor Program, watches a lot of Jeopardy, and buys at least two new books for every book she actually reads. Julia lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Nick and their two cats.
