Friday, March 6, 2020 - 12:30pm Meigs Hall, 101 Education Policy Seminar Please join us for an Education Policy Seminar by Dr. Rob Anderson (PhD, 2014) who serves as President of the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO). Dr. Anderson will present on three of SHEEO’s current initiatives. (1) Accountability. SHEEO has become a leading national voice in policy deliberations related postsecondary education accountability, including the "regulatory triad" of state authorization, accrediting agency approval, and U.S. Department of Education certification. (2) Finance. For nearly two decades, SHEEO has collected and reported data in its annual State Higher Education Finance (SHEF) reports. With funding support from the Gates Foundation, these efforts have increased significantly in recent years to include data visualization and public availability of data. (3) Research. SHEEO has significantly increased its research portfolio in recent years, both in terms of research conducted by SHEEO staff and SHEEO-sponsored research by higher education scholars. Dr. Anderson will discuss how these research efforts will connect with policymaking efforts nationally and within state agencies.
