Marion Ross Fedrick

Dr. Marion Ross Fedrick currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief of Staff at Georgia State University. She also serves as a Senior Advisor to University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Initiatives. 

As Executive Vice President, Dr. Fedrick will support the President in the management of key university-wide operations and initiatives, delegated oversight of key offices, advising on policy, procedures, operational issues, and best practices, and in advance of key meetings, gathering and synthesizing key information, and managing special projects and operational evaluations to completion.

Dr. Fedrick was appointed as the 10th president of Albany State University on August 14, 2018, by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Fedrick was appointed after serving as both the interim executive vice president and interim president for the university since October 2017. During Dr. Fedrick’s impressive tenure at Albany State, she significantly increased enrollment and retention in support of student success.  In addition, she initiated “The Standard," a five-year strategic plan, and expanded the academic healthcare portfolio to improve wellness access throughout the region and state.

Dr. Fedrick is an accomplished senior leader whose proven expertise spans over 30 years. Fedrick’s professional background includes higher education administration, strategic planning, crisis management, and strategic partnership management in both the private and public sectors.

The intersection of her vision, passion, and broad leadership capabilities has placed her in key leadership roles throughout her career. She has served as vice chancellor of human resources for the University System of Georgia, leading strategic initiatives relating to effective university administration, leadership development, and all human resources planning efforts. She has also held administrative positions at Clark Atlanta University, Emory University Hospitals, State of Georgia’s Office of State Personnel Administration, AT&T, and the former BellSouth Corporation. She is a member of the 6th executive Ed.D. cohort in higher education management.
