Carol Flowers

Carol Flowers St. John is Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Engagement and plays a key role in helping to shape the faculty experience at Emory. Her current portfolio includes managing the university tenure and promotion review process and decanal appointments; creating and delivering a range of strategic programming to enhance faculty development and engagement; and developing faculty policies, in collaboration with senior leadership, and making recommendations for modifications of administrative procedures.

Prior to that, Flowers served as director of EO/AA compliance in the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and as associate director of faculty affairs in the Office of the Provost, both at Emory University.  She serves on a variety of university committees and co-chairs the Divisional Committee on Community and Diversity.

A native of New York, Flowers received her bachelor of arts in English literature from Baruch College (CUNY) and her master of public health in health education at Emory University.
