Doctoral Student Caitlyn Cofer serves as the Director of Operations for the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) at Georgia Southern University, reporting to the Assistant Provost. In this role, she manages the university's "Ready Day 1" initiative, the Legislative Internship Program, and all business operations for the OCPD. Over her eleven-year tenure at Georgia Southern, Cofer has served on various cross-functional committees, including leading the Quality Enhancement Plan, a central component of the institution's 2025 reaffirmation of accreditation. Cofer holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Alabama and a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Georgia Southern University. She is also a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach through Multi-Health Systems (MHS). Her commitment to advancing career readiness extends beyond campus, as she proudly serves on boards in professional organizations with the goal of advancing career readiness as a central part of student and life success. She has presented her work towards this initiative for professional organizations including the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Her dedication to the field has earned recognition including being named the 2017 Rising Star by the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers and receiving Georgia Southern's 40 Under 40 honor in 2025. Beyond her university work, Cofer has coached the varsity girls' soccer team at Bulloch Academy for six years, where she mentors young athletes in leadership and teamwork, and serves on community committees and initiatives.
