Program Coordinator, Georgia College Advising Corps Makyla Jackson is the Program Coordinator for the Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC), where she is deeply committed to supporting first-generation and low-income students. Prior to joining GCAC, Makyla served as a College Advisor through Georgia State University, an experience that ignited her passion for student success. As a first-generation and low-income college graduate, she understands firsthand the transformative power of higher education and is dedicated to bridging the gap for students facing similar challenges. Makyla holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. Her career continued as a Student Success Advisor at Georgia Gwinnett College, where she continued to advocate for and support first-generation students. Returning to the College Advising Corps through the University of Georgia represents a full-circle moment for Makyla, allowing her to collaborate with advisors and work closely with the program’s director to further its mission.
