EdD, 2019 Stacy Jones is the director of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel. Jones had served as the associate director for governmental training, education, and development at the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, which annually trains over 22,000 local, state, and international government officials in variety of professional development topics. She managed the Institute of Government’s training division to conduct learning needs assessments, to design and develop curriculum, to instruct and to facilitate workshops, conferences, and presentations, to facilitate strategic planning for organizations, and to evaluate training. Her career has included previous service as the director of public affairs and tourism for the City of Conyers, the executive director of the City of Monroe, Georgia Downtown Development Authority and the chief development officer for Walton Regional Medical Center and Clearview Regional Medical Center. Jones is active in the national Consortium of University Public Service Organizations, the International Leadership Association, and the Association for Talent Development. Jones received a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer sciences from the University for Georgia, where she majored in consumer journalism. She completed her Master of Public Administration at Troy State University with a focus on public personnel management. Jones has remained an active alumnus with the University of Georgia, serving as her college's alumni association president and was a recipient of the UGA Blue Key Young Alumnus award and the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences Pacesetter award. She is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and the UGA Public Service and Outreach Leadership Academy.
