Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate

The Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia seeks a postdoctoral research and teaching associate for the 2019-20 academic year. The person hired will work with Institute faculty and students to develop and pursue research funding opportunities, extend the Institute’s external scholarly and funding networks, enhance the Institute’s internal research infrastructure, and participate in collaborative research projects (.80 time). In addition, the person hired will collaborate in teaching introductory quantitative methods coursework for the Institute’s graduate students (.20 time).

An earned doctorate in the social sciences, public policy, education, or management is required for this position. Experience in funded research projects, conference presentations, and publications is expected.

IHE postdoctoral associates have a history of success in employment after their stay at the Institute. After finishing their Institute appointments, four recent postdoctoral associates assumed faculty positions in highly ranked higher-education programs in the U.S. and another assumed a research position in a university-based research center overseas. The Institute   encourages applications from members of under-represented groups.

A senior faculty member whose research and teaching closely aligns with the interests of the chosen candidate will mentor the postdoctoral associate. This appointment may be renewed for a second academic year upon mutual interest, administrative approval, and the availability of funds. Please address any inquiries to Professor Robert Toutkoushian (rtoutkou@uga.edu).

Review of applications will begin March 15 and continue until the position is filled.

To apply, please send a curriculum vitae and cover letter to:
