Louise McBee Lectures

Distinctiveness and distinction characterize the Louise McBee Lecture series, which is one of the few annual lecture series in the United States that focuses solely on higher education. Founded in 1989, the series has brought external leaders in higher education to the McBee Institute and the University of Georgia to comment upon key directions and themes in higher education.

The 2024 lecture will be given by Belle S. Wheelan, President of the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges. The lecture, titled "What a Difference Education Makes,"  will focus on the impact higher education has on the lives of individuals who engage in it as well as those who provide it.

Please visit the the McBee Lecture Archive to learn more about past lectures.

We are honored that this event is part of the University's 2024 Fall Signature Lecture Series.

For more information or to request accessibility accommodations, please contact Megan Holloway at watersme@uga.edu. Requests must be made at least seven days in advance.
