Steven Moyers

Steve Moyers is vice president and dean of education for EMS at Grady Health System in Atlanta Georgia, one of the largest academic teaching hospitals and emergency medical services.

Moyers served as dean of health sciences at Gwinnett Technical College for nine years and interim dean of nursing sciences for 1 year. During his 20 years at Gwinnett Tech, after beginning as an adjunct instructor, he served as EMS clinical director, EMS program director, and as associate director for health science continuing education. In addition to chairing a number of academic and college-wide committees, he led Gwinnett Tech through its conversion from quarters to semesters in 2011. Moyers is a past instructor of the year and a president’s award winner. He served as a site-visitor for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and a team captain for the Committee on Accreditation for the EMS Profession (CoAEMSP).

Moyers is a nationally registered and Georgia licensed paramedic and has been involved in EMS for over 30 years, with the majority in education. He implemented and completed the process for Gwinnett Technical College to become Georgia’s first nationally accredited EMS program. He has been appointed to the Region 3 EMS council by both the Gwinnett and Fulton County boards of commissioners overseeing the EMS system for the metro-Atlanta region and currently serves as vice chair.

Moyers holds an associate of applied science degree in health from DeKalb College, a bachelor of science in education from the University of Georgia, a master of arts in leadership from Shorter College, and a doctor of education from the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education.
