EdD, 2019 Stacy Jones is the Vice President for Public Service & Outreach at the University of Georgia. As VP PSO, Jones serves as a champion for the university's public service mission and leads eight PSO units: Archway Partnership, Carl Vinson Institute of Government, J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, Office of Service-Learning, Small Business Development Center, State Botanical Garden of Georgia, and the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. Prior to her appointment as VP, Jones served as the associate vice president for public service and outreach and director of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel. Jones has also previously served as the associate director for governmental training, education, and development at the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Her career has included previous service as the director of public affairs and tourism for the City of Conyers and the Georgia International Horse Park, the executive director of the City of Monroe's Downtown Development Authority, and the chief development officer for Walton Regional Medical Center and Clearview Regional Medical Center. Jones is active in the national Consortium of University Public Service Organizations, the International Leadership Association, and the Association for Talent Development. Jones received a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer sciences from the University for Georgia, where she majored in consumer journalism. She completed her Master of Public Administration at Troy State University with a focus on public personnel management. She earned her doctorate in higher education management from the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education at UGA. Jones has served as president of the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Association and chair of the Georgia 4-H State Advisory Council. Additionally, she is a recipient of the UGA Blue Key Young Alumnus Award and the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences Pacesetter Award.
