EdD 1997 John R. Lough is an executive coach and career consultant, operating Lough & Behold in Winston-Salem, NC. He specializes in leadership development and is a co-creator of Georgians for Manufacturing. Lough's career began as an undergraduate coordinator/advisor for the Department of Management in the Terry College of Business (UGA), where he served until September 1997. He also taught Principles of Management and Business Communication at UGA. In the summers, he was the Academic Director of the Public Utility Leadership Program. From 1997 to 2011, Lough served as manager of professional development at BB&T (now Truist) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and was founding manager of The BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest University. Following retirement from BB&T in 2011, he served on the faculty of the Business Schools at WFU. Lough co-authored (with David Day) a business press book, How to Win as a First-Time Manager.
