Doctoral Student Diana Wrenn Rapp is a part-time doctoral student in the Institute of Higher Education. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Atlanta Global Studies Center, a Title VI National Resource Center, at Georgia State University. In this role, Diana coordinates programs and communicates with a growing network of university and community partners who work together on projects that expand language learning and international cooperation in the Atlanta region. In addition, she manages the FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Fellowship Program for graduate and undergraduate students at GSU. Before joining the Atlanta Global Studies Center in 2019, Diana taught English as a Second Language to international college students for over 10 years, mentored and trained new teachers, directed special programs, and organized events. Diana earned an MA in Applied Linguistics and ESL from Georgia State University and a BA in International Studies from Texas A&M University. Diana’s research interests center on equitable access to higher education, career readiness, and the return on investment for students as well as the effects that instructional innovation, service and collaboration have on faculty retention, productivity, and promotion.
