Chad Contéro-Puls

Charles W. Contéro-Puls ("Chad") is deputy assistant commissioner for Student Financial Aid Programs at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in Austin.

He formerly worked as associate dean of college enrollment and director of financial aid at the University of Rochester, where he focused on need-based financial aid strategy, effective implementation of customer service and technology initiatives, and integration of the financial aid, communications, management services, and admissions sectors of the enrollment division.

Over the past two decades, he has served in a variety of positions in the field of financial aid at schools such as Dartmouth College, Boston College, and the University of Massachusetts - Boston. He has also been an active member of regional and national associations for student employment, serving as a national trainer, testifying before Congress, and holding multiple committee and board roles, including president of the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators.

In addition to his doctorate from UGA, he received his master's degree in college student personnel administration from Indiana University, Bloomington and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Delaware.
